Sustainable Business Report 2024

We are proud to present our new Sustainable Business Report!

Since our establishment in 2020, caring for people and nature has been at the heart of the way we do business. Our new sustainability report looks back on the steps we have taken with our partners, including the validation of our chain-wide CO₂ reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We have also made significant progress on issues such as responsible water management, WASH and biodiversity. With ambitious plans for 2028, we are continuing to build a sustainable value chain where our care for people and nature is central, so that everyone can continue to enjoy our berries.

Better together

We have made extremely good progress together with our partners  in recent years in terms of care for people and nature. A few highlights:

  • Almost all of our volume (99.3%) has been successfully audited and meets the sector benchmark for social standards.

  • Working on and promoting responsible water management is one of our priorities. 84% of our total product volume from countries with a high water risk is certified. However, audits alone are not enough. We are therefore also working on collective action for responsible water use in southern Spain. We are actively collaborating in this project with multiple partners to ensure a sustainable future for the river basin in the Doñana region in southern Spain.

  • Since 2022, we have worked with local partners to create food forests at schools in Peru. This gives children access to healthy food and teaches them about the value of nature in a playful way. An investment in a healthier generation and a greener future!

  • In 2024, we developed more sustainable cardboard packaging for almost our entire range of berries, with only a thin layer of foil. Strawberries are packaged entirely in cardboard. This step has reduced plastic use by 94% and CO2 emissions by 49%.

The progress we have made on all the themes we have set for 2024 would not have been possible without our dedicated growers, customers and other partners. We are very grateful for that. Better together!
